Retirement (and rationale)
The dissertation for my BA Creative Writing degree, Retirement is a short story set in a futuristic world where ultra-intelligent AI have become not only household objects, but companions. The sale of these companions has been monopolised by one, powerful corporation, with suspected links to the government. This story in particular is about the night watchman whose final shift is anything but normal.
There is also an accompanying rationale with this piece, discussing my media influences, writing process, and the point of the story.

Retirement
An excerpt of the short story revolving around the shift of a single night worker in the factory that creates AI companions for mass consumption. When something goes wrong on the conveyer belt, our protagonist finds out a little too much about the company he's employed by.

Rationale
An excerpt of the accompanying rationale essay that describes my influences for the short story, Retirement, my writing process, and more detail on why and how the story was written.

Appendix
A collection of a few of the accompanying documents to support Retirement, including world-building notes, and extra short stories that would have been included with Retirement, were it a full collection.
